Half a century of history

Since its inauguration in 1975, the Roche de Mio gondola lift has marked the history of the La Plagne ski area. Connecting Plagne Bellecôte to the summit of Roche de Mio (2,739 m), it has accompanied generations of skiers. At the time, it was the longest gondola lift ever built by POMA, a symbol of innovation for the Savoyard resort.

Two major milestones marked its history:

  • In 1982, an intermediate station was added to serve Belle Plagne.

  • In 2003, a major renovation extended its lifespan.

After 50 years of service, this iconic facility is making way for a new generation of ski lifts, opening a new chapter for La Plagne.
